New mulch and mushroom compost

After digging up all the spuds (40kg) I got a trailer load of mushroom compost and some sugar cane mulch to freshen things up.

Tomatoes on the chook pen

Had cherry tomatoes grow by themselves near the chook pen so I decided to use the pen as a Frame. Supports the plant and helps shade the hens.

Potatoe harvest

42kg of spuds from17sqm 2.3 kg/sqm down about half on last years yield per sqm. But planted bigger area this year so have about the same. Put the drop down to the dry weather.

Slow simmer beef hot pot


Ros is making beef hot pot tonight and the exciting news beside is that as well as our normal home grown stuff we are using leaves from our bay tree for the first time

New system for garden - kitchen communications
